122 Stranded Nigerians Evacuated from Libya

Libya

A total of 122 stranded Nigerians, including 21 children and 10 infants, have been successfully evacuated from Libya. The group, which also included 39 females (seven of whom were rescued victims of human trafficking) and 52 males, departed from Mitiga International Airport aboard a chartered flight and is expected to arrive at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos by 5 pm.

This evacuation, conducted in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya as part of its Voluntary Humanitarian Repatriation (VHR) programme, marks the ninth such operation carried out by the Nigerian Mission in Libya this year. The newly-posted Charge' d'Affaires en-titre to Libya, Amb. Mohammed Mohammed, emphasized the dangers of irregular migration, highlighting the risks of slavery and sexual exploitation that often accompany such journeys. He urged Nigerians to consider these risks carefully and opt for legal and safer migration routes.

I noticed that the date in one of your news articles seems to be incorrect, stating "Wednesday, May May 29" instead of just "Wednesday, May 29." Do you want me to correct that for you?
