14-Year-Old Beheaded for Ritual in Ibadan; Community in Shock

A tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, has left the Olorisaoko community in turmoil after 14-year-old Malik Kareem was reportedly beheaded for a ritual. The gruesome event occurred on Saturday evening in the Akinyele Local Government Area, throwing the entire neighborhood into confusion and fear.

Malik, who had just completed his West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) exams at Iyana Community Grammar School, was allegedly lured by three peers to a Muslim cleric for a money ritual. Unbeknownst to Malik, his friends had conspired with the cleric, who is now at large, to kill him for the ritual. According to family sources, Malik was strangled, beheaded, and his head was cremated in the cleric's home.

In a shocking twist, the cleric’s house was reportedly set ablaze by unknown youths in the area, adding to the chaos. The community remains in shock as the police have launched an investigation into the horrifying incident. Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer Adewale Osifeso confirmed that investigations are underway and assured that updates would be provided as the case progresses.
