The Super Eagles have officially opened camp in Rabat, Morocco ahead of Thursday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup CAF playoff against Gabon — and 18 players are already in.
The team announced the arrivals on its official X page on Tuesday with the caption “Eagles in Camp,” listing the players who have checked in.
Those already in Morocco include Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong, Benjamin Fredericks, Chidozie Awaziem, Amas Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Raphael Onyedika.
Team officials and the first group of players arrived at the Rive Hotel in Rabat on Sunday, marking the start of the final build-up to the decisive encounter.
Media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed earlier that the first set of arrivals included Bassey, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Arokodare, and Olusegun.
Head coach Eric Chelle had invited 24 players for the playoffs — a mix of established names and in-form returnees. Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and Sevilla winger Chidera Ejuke were both recalled after strong club showings this season.
