Rose Idibia, mother of veteran Nigerian singer Innocent “2face” Idibia, has called on Nigerians to intervene in her son’s relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. In a viral video on Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed concern over 2face’s state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
“Please, Nigerians, help me beg Natasha Osawaru to leave my son. He is not in his right senses because of the divorce process,” Mrs. Idibia pleaded, referencing alleged spiritual influences symbolized by beads worn by the singer.
The plea followed a viral video showing 2face proposing to Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party. The pair were seen dancing and embracing, fueling social media frenzy, especially after 2face publicly confirmed their romance.
Addressing the controversy, 2face took to Instagram to defend Osawaru, calling her a brilliant woman uninvolved in his marital issues with Annie. “Yes, I love her and I want to marry her,” the African Queen singer declared.
Osawaru, elected in April 2023, continues to face public scrutiny amidst the high-profile relationship, as Nigerians react to the unfolding drama.
