In a recent development, the Police Spokesperson in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that a total of 428 suspected criminals were apprehended within one week from various black spots across the state. This information was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
Hundeyin explained that the raids typically occurred around 11:15 a.m. daily, and after thorough screening, individuals found innocent were released, while those found culpable would face charges in court. The arrests took place at locations such as Fagba, Orile, Mile-2, Oshodi, Dopemu, Alausa, and Ijora Badia, among others.
These operations were conducted by area commands, divisions, and tactical teams, including the Rapid Response Squad. Over the last four months, more than 2,500 suspected criminals have been arrested through similar crackdowns on black spots in Lagos. This initiative is part of the directives issued by the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr. Adegoke Fayoade, to curb the activities of miscreants in the state.
