American Idol Executive and Husband Gunned Down in Chilling Home Ambush

Tragedy has struck the entertainment world as Robin Kaye, a veteran music supervisor for American Idol, and her husband Thomas Kaye were found shot dead in their Los Angeles home in what police are calling a targeted double homicide.

The couple, both in their 70s, were discovered by LAPD officers conducting a welfare check on July 10. Authorities say they were killed shortly after returning from a trip—allegedly ambushed inside their home by 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, who has since been arrested.

According to detectives, Boodarian is believed to have broken into the property while the Kayes were away, lying in wait for their return. Investigators noted there were “no signs of forced entry or struggle,” raising chilling questions about the level of premeditation involved.

Robin Kaye was a well-respected figure in the music and television industry, with a career spanning decades. Beyond her long tenure on American Idol, her credits include Lip Sync Battle, The Singing Bee, and numerous Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.

In a heartfelt statement, American Idol producers mourned her loss:

“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”

As the investigation continues, the entertainment community and fans alike are left stunned by the senseless violence that claimed the lives of two beloved individuals.
