Fire Guts Ikorodu Filling Station, Cause Under Investigation

There was pandemonium in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday when a fire broke out at A1 Petroleum Filling Station, an independent oil dealer located on Isawo Road, off Agric Bus Stop.

The inferno, which reportedly started from a diesel-laden truck within the premises, sent residents and passersby into panic as thick smoke billowed into the sky.

As of 1 p.m., the extent of property damage and possible casualties had not been ascertained. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, supported by other emergency responders, were on the ground battling to bring the situation under control.
