The Coca-Cola Company has completed the sale of Chivita|Hollandia (CHI Limited) to UAC of Nigeria PLC, after securing approval from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

The transaction, first announced on July 30, has now been closed, officially transferring ownership of the Nigerian food and beverage company to UAC. However, the financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are pleased to have received regulatory approval for this transaction,” said Eelco Weber, Managing Director of Chivita|Hollandia. “We look forward to a smooth transition and to seeing Chivita|Hollandia thrive under UAC’s ownership.”

Coca-Cola first acquired a 40 per cent stake in CHI Limited in 2016, before taking full control in 2019. The company’s decision to divest marks the end of its ownership of one of Nigeria’s most prominent juice and dairy producers.

Welcoming the acquisition, UAC’s Group Managing Director, Fola Aiyesimoju, said, “We are excited to officially welcome the Chivita|Hollandia team and brands into the UAC family. We look forward to working together to build on their strong legacy and market leadership.”

UAC, one of Nigeria’s oldest conglomerates, focuses on domestic manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of consumer brands. The company runs nine manufacturing facilities and several distribution hubs nationwide, employing about 5,000 people.

Founded in 1980, CHI Limited has grown into a household name in Nigeria, producing popular dairy and juice brands such as Hollandia and Chivita. The company is known for innovation and operates ISO 22000-certified facilities that meet global food safety standards.

With the acquisition now finalised, UAC is expected to strengthen its position in the food and beverage sector, while consumers continue to enjoy the Hollandia and Chivita brands under new ownership.
