President Bola Tinubu has approved a two-year extension for the Surveyor-General of the Federation, Mr. AbuduGaniyu Adebomehin.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the extension is part of efforts to strengthen ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s geospatial data systems and national land administration.
The extension, which takes effect from January 5, 2026, comes shortly after the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation was moved to the Presidency — a move that brings geospatial intelligence and national surveying operations directly under the executive arm of government.
