The National Youth Service Corps has begun the physical verification of credentials and travel documents for foreign-trained Nigerian graduates who registered for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ service year.

According to the NYSC, the verification exercise will run from Monday, November 10 to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at designated centres across the country.

The announcement, titled “Notification of Physical Verification of Credentials and Travel Documents of Foreign-Trained Graduates for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year,” explained that the exercise is for Prospective Corps Members whose documents have not yet been physically verified after completing online registration. The notice was also shared on the Corps’ official X account on Sunday night.

The verification centres include:

NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu

Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi

NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja

Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano

NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos

NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo

NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt

Eagle Officers Mess, Gingiya Military Barracks, Gusau Road, Sokoto

NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola

To avoid overcrowding, the NYSC advised Prospective Corps Members to strictly follow the date, time, and venue shown on their verification slips.

Participants must present the original copies of all credentials and travel documents uploaded during registration. Medical graduates are required to upload and also bring their licenses, registration certificates, and other professional documents issued by the relevant bodies.

The NYSC further clarified that those who obtained their qualifications abroad and require official recognition must submit the original copies of their Evaluation Letters from the Federal Ministry of Education at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja, and upload the acknowledged copy online.

The Corps stressed that only individuals who appear in person, present their documents, and are fully cleared during the verification exercise will be deployed, exempted, or excluded from national service.

The announcement comes shortly after the NYSC extended the online registration deadline for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ mobilisation by 48 hours, following network-related complaints from prospective corps members.

There have been ongoing concerns in previous years about overseas “degree mills,” where unaccredited institutions issue fake or unverifiable certificates — making physical verification an important step in the NYSC mobilisation process.
