The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has scheduled an emergency meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) for Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The announcement was made in a notice issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and shared online by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister. According to the notice, both meetings will hold at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The BoT meeting is set for 11:00 a.m., while the NEC meeting will follow at 2:00 p.m. The notice emphasised that attendance is crucial, as important issues will be discussed.
This development comes just days after the PDP’s 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, where several prominent members—including Wike, Anyanwu, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu—were expelled for alleged anti-party activities

Their expulsion was moved by former Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and supported by Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga. Governor Bala Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, put the motion to a voice vote, which delegates overwhelmingly approved, signalling a firm stance against internal dissent.
