A 39-year-old senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, and her daughter, Sewa, who were declared missing in Ogun State, have been found dead in what authorities suspect to be a ritual killing.
The tragic discovery was revealed over the weekend by a Facebook user, Ayomideji Solanke, who shared updates from a family source.
Lasisi and her teenage daughter were last seen on the morning of Sunday, November 2, after leaving their home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Attempts by family members and colleagues to reach them failed, sparking widespread concern.
Lasisi, a Superintendent Route Commander in the FRSC, was a senior operational officer responsible for overseeing multiple routes and coordinating major enforcement activities.
According to Solanke, their remains were found at the residence of a suspected herbalist in an undisclosed community in Osun State. He stated that the herbalist’s wife has been arrested, while the suspected herbalist himself has fled.
Speaking on the development, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, confirmed via telephone that the Osun State Police Command has arrested suspects linked to the incident.
He also revealed that investigators recovered items believed to be body parts of the victims at the scene.
“The Osun command has commenced investigation, and they have made some arrests. Some exhibits suspected to be body parts were recovered. Osun will handle the investigation, and we will support them as needed,” the Commissioner stated.

This case adds to a worrying pattern of missing persons later found dead under similar circumstances across different states.
For instance, in July, police investigated the death of a 16-year-old boy, Lawal Wahab, whose mutilated body was discovered days after he was reported missing in Ogun State.
In another high-profile incident in 2020, the dismembered remains of businessman Ignatius Adunukwe were recovered in Lagos after he was allegedly lured, kidnapped, and killed by individuals posing as land buyers.
