Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested 11 suspected hoodlums in Kumbotso Local Government Area after they allegedly attacked the Mariri outpost using local weapons.
According to a statement released on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the suspects went on a violent rampage after attending a local traditional festival. They reportedly assaulted residents and robbed people of their belongings before moving to a nearby Civil Defence outpost.
Abdullahi said the attack on the outpost left one NSCDC staff member injured.
“The hoodlums stormed the Civil Defence outpost in Mariri and attacked the place, leaving a staff member with a fractured injury,” he said, adding that the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
