The U.S. dollar is currently trading at ₦1,446.9 in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).
In the parallel (black) market, the dollar is going for about ₦1,476 per dollar.
This leaves a gap of roughly ₦29.1 between both markets, showing that the difference between official and street rates is still very noticeable.

Dollar to Naira exchange rate today, November 28, 2025
Analysts say this spread is driven by strong retail demand in the parallel market and limited access to dollars for many individuals and small businesses. On the other hand, official rates continue to stay relatively steady due to government interventions and inflows through formal channels.
For businesses, travellers, and people receiving money from abroad, choosing whether to exchange at the NFEM or the black market remains a major factor in how much value they get when converting dollars to naira.
