The Oyo State Police Command has begun investigating the abduction of Mrs. Ibukun Otesile, the daughter of Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde, who was kidnapped in Ibadan on Thursday night, December 4, 2025.

Otesile, a mother of two and daughter of the founder and General Overseer of Jesus Is King Ministries, was reportedly taken by unknown individuals right in front of her home in the General Gas area around 8pm.

The incident was first announced on the Oyo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Facebook page at 10:08pm on Thursday.
In the alert, CAN called for urgent action, saying:

“Mrs. Ibukun Otesile, daughter of Reverend Dr. Lekan Babatunde and mother of two, was kidnapped tonight, Thursday, December 4th, 2025, around 8pm at the front of her gate in General Gas.”

The association urged security agencies, civil society groups, and the general public to act swiftly and help spread the information to relevant authorities.
The statement was addressed to the Oyo State Police Command in Eleyele and signed by Dr. Olamide Olanrewaju, media aide to the outgoing CAN Chairman.

When contacted on Saturday for an update, calls to the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, went unanswered. However, he later responded via text message, confirming that:
