Kogi CP Assures Residents of Tight Security, Sends Christmas Greetings

The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Naziru Kankarofi, has sent warm Christmas greetings to residents of the state, wishing them a peaceful, joyful and hitch-free celebration.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, CSP William Aya.

According to the statement, the Commissioner assured residents that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place across the state to safeguard lives and property before, during and after the festive period.

He said the measures include the deployment of adequate police personnel, intensified patrols, intelligence-led operations, visibility policing and the strategic positioning of officers at worship centres, recreational spots, major highways, markets and other public places.

CP Kankarofi explained that officers from conventional police units, the Police Mobile Force, Motor Traffic Department, Safer Highway Patrol and other tactical formations have been fully mobilised to maintain law and order and prevent criminal activities throughout the celebrations.

He also charged officers on duty to remain professional, courteous and firm in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The Commissioner urged residents to be law-abiding and vigilant, advising them to promptly report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station or through designated emergency channels.

He further called for community cooperation, particularly in protecting places of worship and strengthening local vigilance during the festive season.

“The Kogi State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and will continue to sustain proactive policing strategies to ensure a peaceful Christmas for all residents,” the statement added.
