Residents of Jabo village in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State were thrown into fear on Christmas night after a loud explosion was heard in the community.
Eyewitnesses said the incident happened suddenly when a suspected object, believed to be an explosive device, landed in the area, triggering panic among villagers. Fortunately, no lives were lost, as the object did not explode in the midst of residents.
A local resident who confirmed the incident said the unexpected sound caused widespread alarm, with many people initially thinking the community was under attack.

“It happened suddenly in the night. The explosion caused fear, but thank God it did not land among people,” the source said.
Security agencies were immediately alerted, and investigations are currently ongoing to determine the nature of the object and how it found its way into the village. Authorities are yet to officially confirm whether it was indeed an explosive device.
Residents have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with security operatives as efforts continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
