Palmer Fit as Chelsea Get Boost Ahead of West Ham Clash

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has delivered encouraging team news ahead of Saturday evening’s Premier League encounter against West Ham at Stamford Bridge, confirming that Cole Palmer is fit and ready to start.

The Blues return to league action after a thrilling 3–2 comeback win over Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, a match in which Palmer made a decisive impact off the bench by providing two assists for João Pedro.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Rosenior said the midfielder came through the game without any issues.

“Cole is fine,” he said. “He came through the other night with two assists and an outstanding performance. He is available to start tomorrow and of course we are really happy about that.”

Rosenior also praised Palmer’s mentality and hunger to be on the pitch, while stressing the need to manage his workload carefully.

“He wants to play every minute of every game; that’s what makes him a special talent,” the coach added. “But when decisions are made, it’s always in the best interests of the players.”

The Chelsea boss also gave updates on several injured players. Romeo Lavia, Tosin Adarabioyo and Dario Essugo are all making steady progress in their recoveries, although Rosenior made it clear none will be rushed back.

“They’re all getting closer day by day and progressing well,” he explained. “Tosin was back out on the pitch today doing his individual rehab. Romeo is in a really good place, and we just need to make sure this last stage of his rehab is really strong. Dario is a little further behind.”

There was further positive news on Levi Colwill, who has been out since pre-season with a knee injury. Rosenior confirmed the defender is progressing well and could return before the end of the season, but insisted caution remains the priority.

“He’s on the right track and in a really good place,” Rosenior said. “It’s been brilliant to see him back on the pitch running. He’s itching to get back, but we won’t put pressure on him. His health is the most important thing.”

Chelsea will aim to carry their European momentum into the league when they host West Ham on Saturday night.
