Police Arrest Three Suspected Kidnappers in Adamawa, Victim’s Son Among Them

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of Alhaji Ahmadu in Malabu, Fufore Local Government Area of the state.

The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, who said the suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-driven operation carried out with the support of local security stakeholders.

According to the police, the raid was launched following the kidnapping of Alhaji Ahmadu on January 30, 2026, after the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, ordered intensified operations against criminal groups in the state.

Nguroje explained that the joint operation involved police officers and members of Miyetti-Allah, who stormed a suspected kidnappers’ hideout located in Jera village, Malabu District.

The suspects were identified as Lawali Haruna (45), Yahaya Ibrahim (25) and Da’u Alhaji Ahmadu (28), all residents of Jera community in Fufore LGA.

In a surprising development, the police revealed that one of the suspects is the biological son of the kidnapped victim.

The police said all three suspects have confessed to participating in the kidnapping.

Meanwhile, the command stated that efforts are still ongoing to rescue Alhaji Ahmadu safely and track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate.

The suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.

The Commissioner of Police praised the cooperation between the police and local security groups, assuring residents of the command’s determination to protect lives and property across Adamawa State.
