Ondo Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Killing of 27-Year-Old Woman

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three men in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old woman identified as Faith in Ondo Town.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, noting that the incident happened at Fagun Estate Road 5, Ondo Town, in Ondo East Local Government Area.

According to the police, the suspects—Olayode (27), Temitope (32), and Bolaji (22)—were arrested after the case was reported at the Fagun Police Division on February 5.

Jimoh explained that operatives immediately responded to the report and arrived at the scene, where Faith’s lifeless body was found. Her remains were later taken to the State Specialist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Preliminary findings revealed that the attackers reportedly forced their way into the compound of a woman identified as Helen. During the attack, Faith was said to have been brutally assaulted with machetes, sustaining fatal injuries that led to her death.

The police spokesperson said the suspects are currently in custody and have already made statements that will aid the ongoing investigation.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has assured residents of the state that security has been strengthened across Ondo to prevent a repeat of such violence. He also urged the public to remain calm and continue their lawful activities.

The police further encouraged residents to provide timely and credible information that can help security agencies combat crime and protect lives and property.
