The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has approved the appointment of Mrs Chiamaka Nnake as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The announcement was made in a statement on Monday by the governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
Nnake, 39, is from Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area and is a seasoned finance and public sector professional with over 13 years of experience in finance, strategy, and economic planning.
Before her appointment, she served as the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Anambra State, where she played a key role in mobilising and allocating resources to drive socio-economic development. She also previously chaired Solution Fun City Limited.
According to the statement, she has held several strategic roles across state boards and initiatives, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board, and the Small Business Agency. She also serves as the state’s Reform Champion for Ease of Doing Business and focal point for Social Investment Programmes, promoting policies aimed at inclusive growth.

Nnake’s private sector experience includes working as a Senior Strategy Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she handled multiple engagements across sectors. She also contributed to the development of the Anambra Vision 2070 plan, a long-term blueprint for the state’s development.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a Business Analyst at IHS Towers and later as an Equity Research Analyst at Meristem Securities Limited.
She holds an MBA from Lagos Business School and graduated with First-Class Honours in Accounting from Benson Idahosa University. She is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of its National Advisory Committee.
In addition, she has completed executive training at Harvard Kennedy School and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy.
