APC Zonal Congresses Produce New Leaders, Rally Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Bid

Zonal executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have emerged across the country, with party leaders pledging strong mobilisation efforts to secure a landslide victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

The congresses, held across the six geopolitical zones, served as a buildup to the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 in Abuja. The successful conduct of the exercises, alongside the President’s recent engagements with governors, stakeholders, and international partners, has been seen as a sign of the party’s readiness for the convention.

At the various venues, consensus and voice votes were widely adopted, leading to the emergence of both returning and new executives. Party leaders, governors, and lawmakers present emphasised unity and grassroots mobilisation as key strategies ahead of the next general elections.

In the South-West, delegates gathered in large numbers as executives were elected, with leaders describing the process as peaceful and transparent. Prominent figures in the zone reiterated their commitment to delivering strong electoral support for the APC in 2027.

Similarly, the South-South congress produced new leadership, with party stakeholders highlighting the region’s growing alignment with the APC. Leaders in the zone expressed confidence that it could become one of the party’s strongest support bases in the next election cycle.

In the South-East, party officials stressed unity and consolidation, noting that the congress demonstrated increasing cohesion within the region. They also pointed to ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s presence and influence.

The North-West and North-East congresses also saw the emergence of new executives, with leaders calling for discipline, unity, and sustained mobilisation. Party members in both regions expressed support for the current administration’s policies, particularly in areas such as security and economic reforms.

In the North-Central zone, party stakeholders went a step further by adopting President Tinubu as their sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election, citing his reform agenda and leadership direction.

Across all regions, the congresses attracted high-profile attendance, including governors, lawmakers, and party chieftains, all of whom reiterated the need for cohesion within the party.

With the zonal congresses concluded, attention now shifts to the national convention, where party leaders are expected to consolidate strategies and strengthen internal structures ahead of the next electoral cycle.
