NAPTIP Steps In as Viral School Bullying Video Sparks Outrage

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has launched an investigation into a viral video showing a group of female students stripping and harassing a fellow student at a school reportedly in Benue State.

Reacting via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, the agency described the incident as disturbing and confirmed that its Benue State Command has been directed to take immediate action.

“This is indeed a sad development. The case has been forwarded to our Benue State Command, which has been directed to immediately liaise with the relevant agencies in the state to ensure swift and appropriate action,” the statement read.

The intervention comes after the video sparked widespread outrage online. The footage shows at least five girls, dressed in school uniforms, humiliating their peer while recording the act. The victim was seen struggling to cover herself as the attackers laughed.

The incident has triggered calls for accountability and stronger measures to protect students from bullying and abuse in schools.
