Nasir Idris has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, citing major federal infrastructure and renewable energy projects being executed in Kebbi State as reasons for his support.
The endorsement was made on Wednesday during a gathering organised by the Tinubu Support Organisation at the Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi. Supporters at the event also endorsed Governor Idris for a second term in office.
Speaking at the ceremony, the governor said Kebbi State had benefited significantly from the Tinubu administration through various development projects, including the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway and renewable energy initiatives.
According to him, the projects demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to economic growth and infrastructure development across the country.
“We in Kebbi State have benefited immensely from the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Several federal projects have been sited in our state, including major infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives,” he said.
Idris added that the achievements recorded by the current administration provide enough justification for the President to seek another term in office.
He also described Kebbi as the first state to publicly declare support for Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor commended the National Leader of the Tinubu Support Organisation, Aminu Suleiman, for mobilising support for the President and expanding the organisation’s activities across the country.
Earlier, Suleiman said the endorsement campaign would be extended to other states and the Federal Capital Territory, noting that members of the group would intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of both President Tinubu and Governor Idris.

“We have formally launched this endorsement campaign in Kebbi State and will subsequently take it to other states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory. Our members nationwide will actively mobilise support for President Tinubu and Governor Idris,” he said.
The event attracted party supporters, political stakeholders and members of the support group, all of whom pledged to work towards securing future electoral victories for the two leaders.
The endorsement is among the earliest public declarations of support for Tinubu’s potential second-term bid and signals growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kebbi State remains one of the strongest support bases of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the North-West and is considered politically important because of its electoral influence and economic significance, particularly in agriculture and trade.
