Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has formally received three siblings who were abducted in Amaoba-Ime Oboro, Ikwuano local government area, and later rescued. The children, Gideon (8), Divine (6), and Israel (4), were taken on May 10, 2024, by a commercial motorcyclist hired by their grandmother to bring them home from school.
In a heartfelt gathering at his residence in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South, Governor Otti expressed gratitude to God and those who worked tirelessly for the children's release. He emphasized the importance of parental vigilance, cautioning against entrusting children to strangers, including Keke and Okada riders. Otti urged parents and caregivers to prioritize the safety and security of their children above all else.

Governor Otti praised the collaborative efforts of the security operatives involved in the rescue mission and called for the prosecution of all those responsible for the abduction. He pledged the government's support for the rescued children and encouraged communities to adopt a collective responsibility for the welfare of all children.
The Mayor of Ikwuano, Comrade Osinachi Nwaka, recounted the three-stage rescue operation, highlighting a significant effort in Ekwulobia, Anambra State. He commended the Governor's steadfast commitment to security in Abia. Special Adviser on Security Matters, Commander MacDonald Uba (Rtd), and Hon Boniface Isienyi, representing Ikwuano State Constituency, also praised the successful operation, attributing its success to divine intervention and the Governor's leadership.
