The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has criticized the Labour Party (LP) administration under Governor Alex Otti, accusing it of lacking transparency and accountability. During a media chat, State Chairman Alwell Asiforo Okere, represented by Elder Abraham Amah, emphasized the PDP's commitment to upholding citizens' interests and advocating for accountable governance.

Okere expressed gratitude to Abians for their sacrifices in securing the freedoms enjoyed today, pledging that the PDP would continue holding leaders accountable. "We will not take their sacrifices for granted," he affirmed, highlighting the party's determination to safeguard the democratic principles it built in Abia.

Amah, acting as Publicity Secretary, reiterated the PDP's stance on transparency and accountability in government operations. He criticized the Otti-led administration for disregarding calls for openness and for alleged fraudulent activities, particularly in the Ministry of Health. The recent suspension of the Health Commissioner, he claimed, underscored the need for rigorous scrutiny across other ministries.
