The Adamawa State Government has announced its decision to continue paying a monthly allowance of N10,000 to every member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state. This measure is aimed at mitigating the impact of inflation in the country.
Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the state's Deputy Governor, made this pledge during the swearing-in ceremony of 1,700 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Damare, near Yola. She assured the corps members of a safe and conducive environment for their service.
Farauta emphasized the state's commitment to supporting corps members and urged them to reciprocate by being diligent, disciplined, and hardworking at their places of primary assignment. She also encouraged them to take advantage of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme for self-employment opportunities.
Mr. Jingi Denis, the state NYSC Coordinator, expressed gratitude to the government for the allowance and for augmenting the feeding of corps members and camp officials. He advised the corps members to maintain a high level of discipline and enthusiasm throughout their service.
