The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced that it will disconnect electricity supply to all customers with outstanding bills if they fail to settle their debt within the next 72 hours. The deadline for payment is set for Monday, June 3, 2024.

In a statement issued by AEDC's acting Managing Director, Victor Ojelabi, on Friday, the company stressed the critical importance of timely payment of electricity bills for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure. "The timely payment of electricity bills remains crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of AEDC’s infrastructure, which is essential for delivering uninterrupted service to the community," Ojelabi noted.

He emphasized the necessity of adhering to payment deadlines, stating, "Customers who are yet to settle their outstanding bills within the next 72 hours will face disconnection of their electricity supply."

AEDC reiterated its commitment to providing efficient and reliable service but warned that achieving this goal requires prompt payment of electricity bills. Customers with outstanding bills are urged to settle their accounts immediately to avoid service disruption.
