Air Strikes Hit Terrorist Hideouts in Kaduna State, Significant Successes Recorded

Despite challenging weather conditions, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch has successfully conducted air strikes targeting terrorist locations in Kaduna State. On July 12, 2024, an airstrike on Alhaji Layi's enclave in Kufan Shantu Village, Giwa Local Government Area, resulted in the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their thatched huts and hidden logistics.

Another airstrike on July 13, 2024, targeted terrorist camps in Malum Forest, Igabi Local Government Area. Battle Damage Assessment footage showed terrorists loitering in a compound with zinc-roofed structures before a precision strike was authorized, eliminating most of the terrorists.

These operations were based on credible Human Intelligence, along with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) activities, which identified these locations as terrorist enclaves responsible for an ambush on troops in Manini on July 10, 2024.

The Nigerian Air Force, in collaboration with surface forces, is committed to maintaining dominance in the region through continuous situational awareness, regular patrols, and targeted strikes on terrorist safe havens. This strategy aims to eradicate terrorism and other criminal activities in the North West and North Central regions.
