APC Blasts ADC Leaders as “Political Villains

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a scathing attack on the leadership of the newly energized African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing key opposition figures of being responsible for decades of poverty, underdevelopment, and national misery.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Lunchtime Politics on Thursday, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described the opposition coalition as a gathering of “political villains” who wasted their opportunities to transform Nigeria while in power.

“A coalition of political villains, many of whom are now prancing around in the ADC, are the same individuals who have shaped Nigeria’s underdevelopment and hardship over the years,” Morka declared.

Atiku in the Line of Fire

Morka directed sharp criticism at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accusing him of chairing critical reform committees during his tenure that ultimately failed to deliver any progress—particularly in the power sector.

“Atiku publicly admitted that his committee on power reforms ended in a fiasco,” Morka said. “Even his former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, documented in his memoirs how Atiku contributed significantly to Nigeria’s long-standing problems.”

El-Rufai, Amaechi Also Targeted

The APC spokesman didn’t stop at Atiku. He also lashed out at former governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, labeling them as leaders who had “squandered divine opportunities” to uplift the country.

“God gave them power for years—to lead, to fix this country. But they blew it,” he said. “They failed to use their positions to make Nigeria better for our children. Now they want a second chance through another political disguise.”

“Serial Party-Hopping” and 2027 Politics

Morka went further to accuse Atiku of being a “serial party-hopper”, switching between nearly every major political party since 1999 to satisfy his personal ambition.

“Why must one man’s presidential dream come at the cost of millions of Nigerians?” Morka questioned.

The remarks come amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition leaders—many of them ex-APC or PDP members—rallying under the ADC umbrella in what is widely seen as a bid to unseat the Tinubu administration.

Morka dismissed the coalition as “a desperate recycling of failed leadership,” warning Nigerians not to be deceived by old faces in new robes.
