Army Chief Declares Victory Path in Insecurity, Unveils Housing Project

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, has declared that recent reports from army formations nationwide show significant progress in combating insecurity. Speaking at the conclusion of the five-day Chief of Army combined 2nd and 3rd quarters conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Lagbaja emphasized that despite the challenges, the army is on a victorious path and continues to fine-tune strategies for the coming months.

Lagbaja assured Nigerians of the army's commitment to working with other security agencies to ensure national safety and urged continued public support. He praised the participants for their dedication and noted that the Secretariat would soon release detailed decisions from the conference.

In a related development, Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno, represented by Attorney General Uko Udom SAN, conducted the groundbreaking for the Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS) project. This initiative aims to provide quality and affordable housing for soldiers, boosting their morale and well-being.

Lt. General Lagbaja lauded the AHOOAS project as a crucial part of enhancing soldiers' quality of life. Major General Joseph Omali, Managing Director of Post-Service Housing Development Limited, highlighted the project's alignment with the army's welfare goals and expressed gratitude for the support from the Akwa Ibom State Government.
