Army Chief Orders Troops to Stay Vigilant, Intensify Offensive in North-East

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has urged troops of Operation HADIN KAI to remain vigilant and maintain an aggressive stance in the ongoing fight against terrorists in the North-East.

This message was delivered during his operational assessment visit to the Joint Task Force North East Headquarters in Maiduguri, Borno State. The visit, according to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, was aimed at evaluating the security situation, reviewing troop performance, and strengthening cooperation with other security agencies.

Shaibu commended the troops for their resilience but reminded them that vigilance must not drop.

“He charged troops to sustain vigilance, avoid complacency, and maintain an aggressive posture to deny terrorists freedom of action across the theatre,” the statement said.

During interactions with commanders, the Army Chief emphasised better coordination, stronger intelligence sharing, and continued pressure on terrorist groups.

Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander, briefed him on ongoing operations and their challenges.
