Personnel of Operation Safe Haven have killed 23-year-old herder Abubakar Musa in the Donkasa community of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State. The incident occurred around 2:00 am while the community was asleep.
According to the Fulani community, the personnel arrived in the area and started shooting sporadically in an attempt to make some arrests, resulting in Abubakar's death without any justification.

Jibrin Abubakar, the father of the deceased, expressed his dismay: "I was at home when a call came in that soldiers came to the community, arrested three persons, and shot dead Abubakar. This is not proper because Abubakar, being an innocent person, doesn’t deserve this. We don’t know our offence. Those who have committed this dastardly act have committed a big mistake."
The mother of the victim, Asiya Muhammad, also condemned the killing, adding that the three persons arrested are from the community. The family and community are calling for a thorough investigation into the incident and accountability for the wrongful death of Abubakar Musa.
