Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, on Monday convened an emergency Security Council meeting at the Government House in response to a recent bandit attack in the state.
The meeting brought together heads of security agencies, chairmen of affected local government areas, and representatives from key institutions, including the Nigerian Army, Defence Headquarters, and the Department of State Services.
Also present were officials from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Federal Fire Service, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, alongside traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other top government officials, attended the session.
The emergency meeting follows Sunday’s attack on Sayaya village in Matazu Local Government Area, where bandits killed three people, including a police officer.

In response, Governor Radda visited the affected community for an on-the-spot assessment. He inspected damaged facilities, including the health centre and looted shops, and met with residents to commiserate with them.
During the visit, the governor also condoled with the Divisional Police Officer and other officers over the loss of their colleague, while extending his sympathies to families affected by the attack.
