Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi, elevating him to 1st class status. The appointment follows the recent passing of his father, the late Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammad Ɗanyaya, who died about a week ago.

Born in 1956 in Ningi, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya previously held the title of Chiroman Ningi. He is married with children.

The appointment was made under the powers vested in Governor Mohammed by Cap. 24 Item 3(1) of the Bauchi State laws on the Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs, following the recommendation of the kingmakers.

The Bauchi State Government expressed confidence that the new Emir will uphold his late father's legacy, continuing to promote unity, peace, and development in the Ningi Emirate and Bauchi State at large.
