Bauchi Police Arrest Five for Criminal Conspiracy and Receiving Stolen Property

The Bauchi Police Command has apprehended five individuals involved in criminal conspiracy and the reception of stolen property. This announcement was made on Tuesday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, representing the state Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed.

Among those arrested is Maryam Ibrahim, a 30-year-old woman, who is accused of receiving stolen tricycles from Kano State and selling them in Bauchi State. The other suspects are Adamu Sale (30), Umar Ibrahim (31), Nasiru Usman (29), and Nasiru Musa Umar (27).

Wakil revealed that Ibrahim had sold approximately seven stolen tricycles, known locally as Keke Napep, within Bauchi. The arrests were made possible by credible intelligence and the diligent work of the State Intelligence Department of the Bauchi State Police Command.

Recovered from the suspects were the seven tricycles, which are considered crucial evidence. Wakil emphasized that receiving stolen property is a serious offense under Section 427 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria, punishable by up to fourteen years of imprisonment.

The PPRO commended the community for their support and cooperation, which was instrumental in the successful operation and subsequent arrests.
