In a major crackdown on drug-related crimes, the Bauchi Police have arrested five suspects involved in drug peddling. The raid, which took place on April 27, 2025, targeted the notorious Bayan Gari area, known for its high concentration of illegal activities.
The operation, led by CSP Abdulrazak Pada under the command of the Police Monitoring Unit, was based on actionable intelligence. Among those arrested were three males and two females, who were found in possession of significant quantities of illegal drugs. The police recovered 30 sachets of Tramadol tablets, 22 bottles of syrups, three Penta injections, and 10 sachets of Diazepam tablets.
This operation has sent a strong message to the drug trade in the region, and authorities are calling on parents and community leaders to take a more active role in curbing drug abuse and criminal behavior in their areas. The arrested suspects are currently under investigation, as police efforts continue to clamp down on the growing drug problem in Bauchi.
