Benue State Governor Imposes Ban on Political Gatherings Amid Security Concerns!

 

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has implemented a ban on all political meetings and gatherings in the state until further notice. The decision, as conveyed in a statement by Paul Biam, the chief of staff to the governor, is based on intelligence regarding the security situation in Benue State. The statement specifically mentions the presence of armed herders in the state as a key factor behind the ban.

The directive, which applies to both intra and inter-party political gatherings, was issued due to the volatile security atmosphere in Benue State. The influx of armed herdsmen into the state has heightened tensions, leading to the governor's decision to prioritize security measures. The statement, which was also addressed to the state Police Commissioner, George Chuku, urges compliance with the ban to ensure the safety and security of residents.
