Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), conducted a thorough review today of the NAF's achievements over the past year, reiterating the commitment to intensify efforts against terrorism, insurgency, and other security challenges in Nigeria.
During a strategic meeting held at NAF Headquarters in Abuja, attended by Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding, Directors, Commandants, and Commanders, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized the need for proactive measures in light of global and regional security dynamics impacting Nigeria. He pointed out the rise in coup attempts across West Africa and the withdrawal of troops from regional peacekeeping missions, which heightens security risks in the Sahel region and contributes to increased influx of weapons and terrorists into Nigeria.

Despite these achievements, he underscored persistent economic challenges in Nigeria, including youth unemployment, inflation, and poverty, which continue to exacerbate security concerns.

He emphasized the importance of continual adaptation and enhancement of NAF capabilities to effectively address evolving security threats across the country.
