Several civil society groups, including the Constitutional Rights Advocate Initiative, Cadrell Advocacy Center, Movement for Nigeria Restructuring, Center for Social & Economic Rights, Committee for the Protection of People’s Mandates, CACOL, and the Commonwealth Institute of Advanced & Professional Studies, held a press conference at Radisson Ikeja. They addressed attempts by influential individuals within the banking sector to undermine the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) proposed reforms under Cardoso.
The coalition revealed credible information suggesting these individuals are using faceless organizations and media campaigns to misinform the public and hinder essential financial reforms. These reforms are crucial for driving Nigeria's economic growth.
At the conference, stakeholders emphasized the importance of the banking reforms and urged the public to support the initiative. They called on those with vested interests to cease activities that could negatively impact Nigeria's economy.
