The Kebbi State Comptroller of Customs, Mr. Ernest Iheanacho, announced that a joint border patrol team intercepted 6,250 sacks of dynamite explosives en route to Kebbi along the Yauri-Jega road. The explosives were loaded in a canter vehicle with registration number Zur 882 ZY, which was intercepted immediately, leading to the arrest of the driver, Abdullahi Aliyu, who was supposed to hand over to Alhaji Mustapha Garba Jega, the receiver.

Upon discovery, both intelligence units of the joint patrol team confirmed the items were explosives. Additionally, a Haojue motorcycle was arrested in connection with the items. Due to the dangerous nature of the explosives, the command decided to hand them over to the Department of State Services (DSS) as the rightful custodians.
