Dangote Group Pledges Full Support, Compensation for BBNaija Winner Phyna’s Sister Injured in Truck Accident

Dangote Group Plc has vowed to provide full medical care and compensation to Mrs. Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma “Phyna” Otabor, following her involvement in a recent accident with one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.

The incident occurred last week along the Auchi axis, leaving Mrs. Otabor hospitalised at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that the crash caused a major traffic gridlock before emergency responders and security operatives arrived to restore order.

In a statement on Thursday, Dangote Cement Plc confirmed that senior officials, alongside the company’s insurance team, visited the accident scene, met with law enforcement authorities, and checked on the victim and her family at the hospital.

“Following the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of our trucks, which sadly resulted in injury to Mrs. Ruth Otabor, we are committed to her full recovery. This includes comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation in line with our welfare policy,” the statement read.

The company expressed solidarity with Mrs. Otabor and her family, wishing her a swift recovery, while assuring that investigations into the cause of the accident were ongoing. It also reiterated its dedication to the safety of all road users.
