Dangote Pledges New Senate Building and Residences for University

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, has committed to constructing a Senate building and 10 senior academic staff residences at the institution. This announcement was made by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Musa Yakasai in Kano on Thursday.

The university had recently faced a power supply disconnection by KEDCO due to a N248 million debt, despite partial payments. Dangote's foundation intervened, paying about N100 million to restore power. This support followed a request from the university’s management during a visit to Dangote's Lagos office.

Dangote's additional commitments include constructing three new student hostels, upgrading the university’s water treatment plant, funding the 5th convocation ceremony, providing a sustainable energy solution for electricity, and supplying official vehicles for principal officers.

Prof. Yakasai expressed deep gratitude for Dangote's philanthropy, highlighting his critical contributions to the university's development and the recent payment to address the electricity bill.
