Delta Declared Ready to Host 2026 Police Games in Asaba

Delta State has been declared safe and fully prepared to host the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA 2026), scheduled to hold from February 7 to February 14, 2026, in Asaba, the state capital.

This assessment was reached by the Force Sports Planning Committee, led by Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Fom Pam Joseph, at the end of a two-day strategic conference and inspection exercise held in Asaba between Friday and Saturday.

In a statement released by the Delta State Police Command, residents, athletes and members of the public were assured that preparations for the national sporting event are on track and progressing smoothly.

The conference and inspection exercise focused on fine-tuning operational plans, logistics and coordination ahead of the games. Committee members also carried out detailed inspections of sporting facilities earmarked for the event to ensure they meet required standards.

Senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force were in attendance, including AIG Suleiman Abdul, CP Dantawaye Miller, CP Hassan Gwani, CP Osifo Emefiele, and the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Aina Adesola, alongside other members of the Force Sports Planning Committee.

Key issues discussed during the conference included venue readiness, security arrangements, accommodation, transportation, medical services and overall logistics, with emphasis on delivering a well-organised and hitch-free sporting festival.

Following the deliberations, the committee toured the proposed sporting venues to assess infrastructure, safety measures and general suitability for the athletes and officials expected from police commands and formations across the country.

At the end of the exercise, the committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe, orderly and successful Police Games, expressing confidence in Delta State’s capacity to host the event.
