Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has warned that civil servants in the state could face negative consequences if the opposition wins the upcoming governorship election. During a thank-you meeting with public servants in Benin, Obaseki emphasized the technological progress made in the state's civil service under his administration. He urged voters to make the right decision to continue this development and avoid electing leaders without experience or ideas.
Obaseki praised Asue Ighodalo, his preferred successor, as a capable leader who would continue the work of modernization and development. He warned that electing unqualified leaders could halt the state's progress and negatively impact public servants.
Ighodalo echoed Obaseki's sentiments, committing to prioritize the public and civil service to ensure Edo's continued progress. He also encouraged voters to turn out in large numbers and defend their votes.
During the event, Obaseki also inaugurated the newly installed traffic lights at the Third East/Sakponba Road Junction, symbolizing his administration's continued focus on infrastructure.
