EFCC Declares Two More Wanted Over N1.3tn CBEX Crypto Fraud That Duped 600,000 Nigerians

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has intensified its crackdown on suspects linked to the collapsed digital trading platform, Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), by declaring two more individuals wanted over a massive N1.3 trillion fraud.

In a notice released on Wednesday via its official social media platforms, the EFCC named Folashade Odelana (31) and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun (32) as persons of interest in the ongoing investigation into CBEX, which allegedly defrauded over 600,000 Nigerians before crashing in April 2025.

According to the notice, both suspects share a last known address: No. 17, Oremeta Street, Allen, Ikeja, Lagos State. They are accused of orchestrating financial schemes that lured unsuspecting investors into the now-defunct platform under false promises of high returns.

“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear below are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the statement read.

The EFCC has already declared 12 other individuals wanted in connection with the scheme, making this one of the most widespread digital fraud crackdowns in recent Nigerian history.

Members of the public with useful information on the whereabouts of Odelana and Abiodun have been urged to contact the Commission through its offices in Ibadan, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja. Hotlines and an official email—info@efccnigeria.org—have also been made available.

The CBEX scandal has sparked public outrage, with many victims calling for swift justice and restitution. As the EFCC ramps up its manhunt, authorities warn Nigerians to remain cautious of unregulated online investment platforms.
