EFCC Nabs 38 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos Raid

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 38 suspected internet fraudsters during a sting operation in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

According to the anti-graft agency, the suspects were picked up on Friday, August 29, 2025, by operatives of its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 at Mambillah Hotel, located on Omodisu Street.

The EFCC explained that the coordinated raid followed credible intelligence and weeks of surveillance of the area, which had been under watch for alleged cybercrime activities.

Items recovered from the suspects included exotic cars, mobile phones, laptops, and substances the Commission identified as a mix of psychoactive and controlled drugs.

A statement from the EFCC confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation. The Commission assured the public that they will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The arrest adds to the EFCC’s continued clampdown on cybercrime across Nigeria, with the Commission reiterating its resolve to rid the country of internet fraud and related financial crimes.
