Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has debunked claims that he left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Speaking through a close aide, El-Rufai described the rumors as baseless fabrications by mischief-makers, emphasizing that such a move would not happen without public acknowledgment.
Taking to his verified X handle, El-Rufai urged the public to dismiss the false reports, reiterating his unwavering commitment to the APC. "Please disregard the patent lies and rumors about my political affiliation," he wrote on Sunday, emphasizing his continued loyalty to the ruling party.
The former governor also announced that his lawyers have been instructed to take legal action against the originators of the false news. "I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers," he stated.
This clarification comes amidst heightened political speculation, with El-Rufai reaffirming his status as a prominent and steadfast APC figure.
