Employment Scam Uncovered in Kano: Officials Arrested and Questioned

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested two suspects and summoned three Permanent Secretaries for questioning in connection with an alleged employment fraud. The scam involved the sale of fake employment forms through the Office of the Head of Service, affecting thousands of job seekers.

Commission Chairman Muhuyi Rimin-Gado revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria that the ongoing investigation aims to identify and bring to justice those involved in the fraudulent activities. Initial findings have implicated the offices of the Head of Service, Civil Service Commission, Kano State Secondary Schools Board, and Health Service Management Board.

The two suspects in custody are reportedly cooperating with the investigation, which has already led to the shutdown of a fake employment portal. The commission is determined to eliminate corruption and ensure justice is served in this case, which has left many job seekers defrauded and desperate.

Rimin-Gado emphasized the commission's commitment to preventing corruption and ensuring accountability. He stated that the state government has tasked the commission with thoroughly investigating the matter and prosecuting those found guilty of the fraudulent sale of employment forms.
