A powerful explosion shook Jos city on Tuesday morning, near the bustling Terminus market area, causing widespread panic and chaos. The blast occurred around 10:30 am, injuring several people, with unconfirmed reports suggesting possible fatalities. Eyewitnesses described scenes of destruction, with people fleeing in panic. "I was nearby when I heard a loud bang," said Gyang Buba, a clothes vendor. "I saw people running and screaming. It was terrifying.”

Emergency teams, including police, fire, and ambulance services, were dispatched to the scene. The Plateau State Police Command has not yet released an official statement, and attempts to reach the Command’s spokesman, Alabo Alfred, have been unsuccessful. However, a security source at the police command headquarters confirmed the explosion, stating that the area has been cordoned off as investigators work to determine the cause.

This incident has heightened security concerns in Jos, a city that has experienced periodic violence in recent years. Residents are urging authorities to strengthen security measures in the area to ensure public safety.
